It involves pouring a liquid plastic into a silicone mold, which is created from a master pattern (often 3D printed), and then curing it under vacuum to eliminate air bubbles. This process is known for its ability to produce parts with excellent surface finishes, fine details, and good mechanical properties, making it suitable for prototyping and low-volume production.
Types of Vacuum Casting
Vacuum die casting
This method is typically used with aluminum, magnesium, or zinc alloys. It involves injecting molten metal into a mold under vacuum, resulting in dense, high-quality castings.
Vacuum low pressure casting
This technique is employed in precision casting of aluminum and magnesium alloy castings. It involves applying low pressure to fill the mold and then maintaining that pressure during solidification.
Urethane casting
This is the most common type of vacuum casting and is used for producing parts from polyurethane and other elastomers.
Centrifugal casting
While not strictly a vacuum casting method, centrifugal casting is another casting process that uses a rotating mold.

Production Process of Vacuum Casting
Master prototype production: We are using traditional processing, 3D printing service, or cnc machining methods to create the master prototype to be replicated.
Making silicone molds: Place the master prototype in a suitable square container, pour in liquid silicone, and solidify to form the mold. Because silicone has good flexibility, high temperature resistance, and chemical stability, making it very suitable for making molds with complex shapes.
Casting replication materials: After the silicone mold solidifies, various materials are used for casting to replicate parts that are highly similar to the prototype. Usually shenzhen strongd model use liquid plastic abs and PC material or rubber parts to make the vacuum casting parts.
Taking out from mould and post-processing: Remove the replica from the silicone mold and perform necessary polishing, cleaning, and surface treatment. If it is the enclosures outside parts, usually we need to painting and silk printing logo, so that the products surface looks perfect.
